Press release from Terrorbird Media:

Asheville, North Carolina’s RBTS WIN and Rapper Shane combine forces to become DAP CITY. The new album is out September 25th, 2015 on Tidal Prism/Permanent Vacation. The fierce, rapid fire new track “Final Fight” highlights Shane’s rhymes against the backdrop of RBTS WIN boom-bap influenced electronic production, as heard on their previous Palm Sunday Deluxe Edition LP. Listen to the track on Soundcloud.

RBTS WIN showcase the talents of producer/songwriter Javier Bolea and Cliff B. Worsham; who mix keyboards with samples and beats to create layered sonic palettes with which they construct songs. Imagine the enigmatic, sample-driven, experimental hip-hop sound influenced by the Avalanches combined with rock and pop leaning textures, and you are entering the aural orbit of RBTS WIN. Rapper Shane is a Charlotte, NC native who has spent half his life writing raps and reppin’ his “Hi Fives for Lo Lives” brand of music.

The group formed in 2008 shortly after Javier moved from his hometown of sun-drenched Miami, FL to the mountain oasis of Cliff’s origins in Asheville, NC. After meeting through mutual friends the two quickly began exchanging song ideas and found that they had a special musical relationship. Javier speaks on their chemistry: “I feel like the juxtaposition of our worlds has everything to do with our sound and the energy we put out. The tropical beaches and these mystical mountains have truly met halfway within these creations.” Thhey have supported the likes of Toro y Moi, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Prefuse 73, Nite Jewel, and others.

Shane and his rowdy crew, Permanent Vacation x Deep Fried Family, are known for throwing some of the wildest parties the Southeast has ever seen. Drawing influences form a multitude of genres, be it classic southern rap, boom bap, to fuzzed-out indie rock and everywhere in between, Shane has developed a sound unique unto himself.
