New Executive Chef making his mark at Renaissance Asheville Hotel

Asheville, NC –Renaissance Asheville Hotel is proud to announce the addition of Chef Richard Petrelli.

In the rapidly crowding downtown Asheville hotel scene, the Renaissance Asheville Hotel has carved out its niche with its easily walk able location to many of Asheville’s most recognizable dining locations. The hotel is known for hosting large catering events and is also home to Writer’s Bistro, its locally inspired restaurant.

The addition of Chef Petrelli adds another layer of local and sustainable flavor to the both the banquet and restaurant menus.

Petrelli’s love of cooking hearkens back to childhood and was set in stone with his first paying job at an Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. He completed his Culinary Arts Degree at the Le Cordon Bleu Pittsburgh. After gaining experience in restaurants in both Florida and Hawaii, he returned to Pittsburgh as the Sous Chef for the Omni William Penn Hotel.

A father of two young sons, he and his wife chose Asheville as the place to raise a family and he is currently making his mark at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel with his evolving cooking style. Petrelli’s take on traditional and “from scratch” recipes mean’s new and exciting menu options bursting with surprising flavor combinations for patrons of Writer’s Bistro and those attending catering events.

Writer’s Bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week.
