Rep. Susan C. Fisher was named to the North Carolina House Select Committee on COVID-19 and to the Education Work Group within that committee.
“Public schools are always a top priority of mine,” noted Rep. Fisher. “The current crisis is not just a public health and economic crisis, it also calls for unprecedented action to support our children and their education.”
The Education Work Group will begin meeting immediately to address ways to help our children learn during the current suspended school year and to prepare for the coming challenges in the next school year. Meetings will be held remotely through phone or video conferencing.
“I look forward to finding bipartisan solutions on how best we can help students now and adapt to this new reality,” stated Rep. Fisher. “We need input from citizens and educators on their best ideas.
