Sculpture class at Harvest House

PRESS RELEASE FROM EVENT ORGANIZERS:

The seemly forever, highly successful, “sold-out” Sculpture Class at Harvest House, 205 Kenilworth Road in Asheville is doubling its’ capacity by adding a second session. This new 8 week section will begin on Thursday, August 4 running from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The cost is $90 to non-residents and $80 Asheville Residents.

This is the perfect class to gain an understanding of hand-building in clay. Jim Kransberger, a local clay sculptor, is teaching this class too. If you know what you want to make, this is a perfect place to learn how to make it. Chances are that there will be eight different personal goals- being fulfilled simultaneously in this class; and a lot camaraderie.

Students will provide their own tools and clay. Highwater Clays, 600 Riverside Drive in Asheville, has a large selection of basic tools and clay. A specific low-fire clay is used in this class and students will get this details when they commit to the class.

Pre-registration is required and the class size is limited to eight, available on a first-come basis. There are only four spaces still open. Call Jim at (828) 505-1907 to enroll and get your seat reserved! Jim is a Southern Highlands Craft Guild member and will be showing his work at the up-coming Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands at the U.S. Cellular Center, July 21-24. If you’re passing by booth 54, stop and ask him your questions about his class.
