Press release from Asheville BookWorks:

SECUNDO – an exhibition of works by local artists

Opening Reception
June 7, 2018 5:30 – 7pm

exhibition dates: June 7 through July 28, 2018

An exhibition of works by local artists working in book, print and mixed media.

Eleven artists from the Asheville area comprise Secundo, a group that meets monthly to discuss, critique and support their creative endeavors. Secundo serves as a foundation of support and inspiration for its members who value this interaction with their peers as an integral part of their artistic lives.

Having formed bonds of respect and trust they work together not merely as friends but as creative comrades to support growth, meet professional challenges and develop as creative folk. Their talents are many and diverse, yet they share the common ground of locale as well as a desire to pursue new ideas and broaden the experiences that persist in an artist’s life.

This exhibition includes works on paper, personal stories bound into artist books, as well as creative work in other media.

Secundo is: Annie Cicale, Allison Dennis, Ann Edelman, Maria Epes, Hollis Fouts, Gaetana Friedman, Janet Hickey, Dyann Myers, Kristen Necessary, Carol Norby and Gerlinde Puchas
