Sunburst’s Second Summer Solstice Soiree for ASAP Announced

From press release:

ASHEVILLE, NC (June 9, 2014)—On June 21, from 5:30 until 10 pm, Sunburst Trout Farms will host Sunburst’s Second Summer Solstice Soiree for ASAP, a benefit dinner for ASAP at their beautiful headquarters in the shadow of Cold Mountain, deep in the heart of Pisgah National Forest. The soiree will also be the first chance for the public to try the Rainbow Trout Burger, the latest product from Sunburst Trout Farms.

“I have loved ASAP since they started nearly two decades ago, and I want everybody else to share that love,” says Sally Eason, CEO of Sunburst Trout Farms. “ASAP creates the community connections for the farmer, the chefs, the school children, and the regional retail and farmers markets. The result is expanding relationships amongst all who value local economic growth and the continuation of farming in the Southern Appalachians.” Eason adds, “Also, I can’t wait for everyone to try our new burger!”

The theme for the evening’s food will be “The Convenience of Local Food” with Sunburst’s unique local food variation on “convenience store” food. Along with delicious hors d’oeuvres, such as Imladris Farm blueberry jam “Pop Tarts,” smoked trout and raspberry basil roll up, and smoked trout rinds, the menu will include the Rainbow Trout Burger and hemp and grit encrusted trout fillet with Hudson’s Smoked Tomato Jam as an entrée. Waynesville Soda Jerks will be on hand to pour their local sodas. Wine for the evening is courtesy of a generous donation by Biltmore WinesHighland Brewing Company has donated beer for the event as well. The award-winning culinary staff of Sunburst led by Research and Development Chef, Charles Hudson, will prepare the food. Harry’s On the Hill will provide carpool service to and from the event, with convenient pickup locations in Asheville.

Tickets are $100 per person, or 10-person tables are available for $850. Reservations can be made at asapconnections.org. All proceeds will benefit ASAP. The event will happen rain or shine.
