Talib Kweli replaces De La Soul at LEAF

Rapper Talib Kweli will replace hip-hop group De La Soul on the Lake Eden Arts Festival lineup, headlining the event Saturday night, Oct. 18.

Here’s the update via the LEAF email newsletter:

LEAF is honored to welcome legendary socially conscious Hip-Hop artist Talib Kweli to anchor Saturday night! For reasons beyond our control, De La Soul has chosen to opt out of LEAF’s contract to perform in Dubai (…cough Mo Money cough…).  If you don’t know Talib, get ready! He has devoted his life to arts education, challenging social issues and uplifting under-served communities through powerful expressions of art & activism. As we prepare to Celebrate Unity & Inspire Every Voice at LEAF this October – We are thrilled to feature artists that not only offer a true mastery of their craft, and also strive to bring about positive transformation through the their incredible Art!

In the festival world, it often seems the only constant is change. Although LEAF Festival seeks to continue to evolve creatively, ultimately its all about the Mission – Connecting cultures and creating community through music and arts, and providing youth with an opportunity to pursue their creative passions!
