In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina and Henderson County, local organizations have united to launch the LoveHendo Business Recovery Fund. This fund aims to provide much-needed financial relief to businesses impacted by the storm, addressing both physical damages and economic losses that may lead to deterioration of the area.The LoveHendo Business Recovery Fund offers a direct and transparent way for businesses to receive critical, short-term support as part of the broader economic recovery in Henderson County. Contributions from the public and private sectors are encouraged to help the county’s recovery efforts. The application is now active and live at www.lovehendo.com and on the Community Foundation of Henderson County website. The first round of applications is due November 8. Applications will be accepted after the initial deadline, based on funding availability.“We want to provide immediate assistance to our business community,” said Ragan Ward, chair of the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce. “Many businesses are struggling, and while this fund isn’t intended to cover all losses, it will provide essential financial aid to help them get back on their feet.”“Eligible businesses will be able to apply for grants based on a scoring system that evaluates need and impact,” said Ben Smith, director, Small Business Center at Blue Ridge Community College. Depending on resources available, businesses may receive full or partial funding. “This fund is designed for short-term relief and aims to address the most immediate needs, allowing businesses to stabilize and recover quickly.”The LoveHendo Business Recovery Fund is made possible through the collaboration of the Community Foundation of Henderson County, the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce, the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority, the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, the Small Business Center at Blue Ridge Community College, and the Friends of Downtown Hendersonville.Donations to the fund can be made through the Community Foundation of Henderson County – LoveHendo Business Recovery Fund and will be used directly to support local businesses affected by the hurricane.
