The Market Place to host dinner with chef and cookbook author Anthony Lamas

William Dissen, executive chef of The Market Place restaurant, will host a five-course dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 9, with chef Anthony Lamas of Seviche Restaurant in Louisville, Ky. The dinner will feature recipes and flavors from Lamas’ new cookbook, Southern Heat, which highlights Lamas’ Southern-Latin hybrid style of cooking.

Lamas will be selling and signing copies of his cookbook during the dinner. Tickets are $65 per person or $80 with drink pairings. To buy tickets, call The Market Place at 252-4162. The Market Place is at 20 Wall St.

 

The menu for the dinner is as follows:

First Course

Tuna old-fashioned, sushi grade yellowfin tuna, pineapple salsa, bluegrass bourbon soy, orange

Second Course

Yuzu and green apple ceviche, wild gulf snapper, celery

Third Course

Chicken tinga, Ashley Farms roulade, swiss chard, confit garlic, manchego, Carolina Gold rice cakes

Fourth Course

Red chile-coriander ribeye, Latino butter, corn elote, queso fresco, grilled scallion

Dessert

Warm milk cake, bourbon dulce de leche, spiced pecans, borage
