The Mediation Center hosts activist Susan Burton on May 7

Event announcement from The Mediation Center:

Every year, The Mediation Center hosts Speak Your Peace, an event that serves to showcase peace makers who are making a difference in the world and which advances our mission in the community.

This year, author and activist Susan Burton is coming to share her story of recovering from a life of repeated incarceration and her vital work with female inmates. Her work dovetails with the Mediation Center’s re-entry work at the Swannanoa Corrections facility.

Speak Your Peace will take place Monday, May 7, from 6:30 to 8:00 at AB Tech Ferguson Auditorium. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased through The Mediation Center’s website.

The evening before Speak Your Peace, Susan Burton will be speaking and signing books at the Swannanoa Correctional Center for Women. We would like to provide a copy of Susan’s book to each of the 366 women incarcerated there. Special edition books for incarcerated women are provided by the publisher for $13 each. Tax-deductible donations can be made through The Mediation Center’s website.
