Just in time for Halloween comes a spooky, spine-chilling classic from the Front Porch Theatre at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. The Turn of the Screw, adapted from the 1898 novella by Henry James, is a gothic ghost story that will delight and thrill audiences.
The show runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday (10/16, 10/17 and 10/18) at 7:30 pm. The cost for the show is $15 not including tax. The Black Mountain Center for the Arts is located at 225 W. State Street. Tickets can be purchased in advance by coming by or calling the Arts Center at 828-669-0930.
Easily one of the most infamous ghost stories of all time, this unnerving and perplexing piece encourages conversations that last long after the curtain goes down. The script’s many twists and turns have sparked debates for years between critics and audiences alike. Turn of the Screw’s ambiguity makes it one of the author’s most famous and talked about stories.
The sparse, yet intensely dramatic piece will feature dramatic performances by actresses Murphy Funkhouser Capps and Tina Rosato, who plays four different gender- bending roles.
Harwood Home for Funerals is sponsoring this perfectly seasonal production.
This is the 5th play for the Black Mountain Center for the Arts’ Front Porch Theatre. For more information or to purchase tickets contact the Black Mountain Center for the Arts at 828-669-0930.
