UNC Asheville Announces 2016 Summer Buzz Breakfast Series from Leadership Asheville

The Leadership Asheville Summer Buzz Breakfast Series is back with three events, beginning Thursday, June 16, with a discussion of Asheville’s culture, past and present. The Summer Buzz Breakfast Series is presented by Ward and Smith, P.A. as a way to explore Asheville’s issues, meet community leaders, and get a taste of the Leadership Asheville experience.

The buzz breakfasts take place at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel and begin with registration and breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. The program begins at 8 a.m. and ends promptly at 9 a.m. Admission is $20, including breakfast, and is open to everyone; table sponsorships are available per event and for the series.

June 16: Asheville’s Culture: Past and Present

Moderator: Adrian Vassallo, business development executive, Dixon Hughes Goodman, and former president, Asheville Downtown Association
Panelists: Jane Anderson, executive director, Asheville Independent Restaurant Association; Leslie Klingner, curator of interpretation, The Biltmore Company; Betsy Puckett, performance artist, director, choreographer

July 21: Asheville’s Direction

Moderator: Jim Stokely, president, Wilma Dykeman Legacy
Panelists: Bill Dean, CEO, The Collider; Mary K. Grant, chancellor, UNC Asheville; Esther Manheimer, mayor, City of Asheville
August 24: Finding Shelter?

Moderator: Kit Cramer, president & CEO, Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce
Panelists: Andy Barnett, executive director, Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity; Gene Bell, CEO, Asheville Housing Authority; Pat Carver, area executive, First Citizens Bank; Eddie Dewey, founder, Dewey Property Advisors
