Press release from UNC Asheville:

John Pierce, UNC Asheville’s vice chancellor for administration and finance, served as the host for this weekend’s meeting of the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO). The SACUBO 2016 Annual Meeting took place at the Grove Park Inn, April 17-19. The hotel was sold-out for the conference and more than 500 people attended the opening breakfast.

In addition to meeting with industry leaders from across the region and sharing best practices, SACUBO 2016 attendees were able to earn up to 15 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.

The Southern Association of College and University Business Officers was founded in 1928 to inform higher education institutions in the southern region of the United States of issues that affect higher education. The purpose of the association is to foster, develop, and promote improved principles and efficient practices in the business and financial management of colleges and universities. Pierce also has been named to the SACUBO board.

SACUBO is one of four regional associations that constitute the National Association of College and University Business Officers, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and represents the needs of higher education as well as acting as a clearinghouse for information and professional development.
