UPDATE (June 22, 2021): Tyrell Devon Warren was arrested in Monroe, North Carolina and served with his open warrants for the death of Brian Keith Wilson, Jr. He was transported to the Buncombe County jail and is being held on no bond.
Warren was located by Monroe law enforcement in a stolen vehicle being driven by Emily Rachelle Derrick. She was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. She is currently in the Union County jail on a $120,000 secure bond.
UPDATE (June 15, 2021): Tyrell Devon Warren has been charged with the murder of Brian Keith Wilson, Jr., and the shooting of another person, on Riverside Drive on June 13. Detectives are asking for help to locate Warren, who is considered armed and dangerous. He is described as a 29-year-old African-American male, 5’8″, and approximately 154 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Warren is charged with:
- 1st-degree murder
- Attempted 1st-degree murder
- Possession of firearm by felon
- Possession of stolen vehicle
- Hit and run
Warren also has six open warrants for:
- Possession of stolen goods/property
- Obtain property under false pretense
- Conspiring to obtain property under false pretense
- 2 counts of larceny of a motor vehicle
- First-degree burglary

Brian Keith Watson, Jr. was deceased when officers arrived. A second person with gunshot wounds was transported to Mission and is in critical condition. This happened in the area of 253 Riverside Drive, below the Captain Jeff Bowen Bridge.Detectives are investigating this incident, but need your help.
