Update on water line replacement in Charlotte Street area

From the city of Asheville:

This is an informational notification from The City of Asheville Water Resources Department letting you know we will be continuing to install new water line infrastructure on Blair Street, Charlotte Street, Albemarle Road and Baird Street in the coming weeks. The construction area will consist of Blair Street from Charlotte Street to Albemarle Road also to include Baird Street.

During construction there will be scheduled water outages and possible road closures as construction progresses. Construction and road closures have a projected completion date of Friday, May 17, 2013. Our construction crew will work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., weather permitting, until project is complete.

The days of May 6, 2013 Through May 10, 2013 the construction crew will be installing new water lines. During this construction, please be aware that any vehicles that will need to travel during this time should be parked outside of the closed work area prior to any construction and road closures.

You will receive weekly updates, every Friday, with road closures, water interruptions, and other pertinent information regarding the project that directly affects you as water customers. As always, it is good to keep vehicles parked off the street and clear of the immediate path of construction.

We apologize for any inconvenience that our construction will cause. We know that dealing with construction projects in a neighborhood can be frustrating. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Water Maintenance Division anytime at 828-259-5975.
