Upscale retailer Désirant to open flagship store inside downtown’s Windsor Boutique Hotel

Retailer Désirant will open its flagship brick-and-mortar store this month at The Windsor Boutique Hotel, located at 36 Broadway downtown. The company exists to “offer a one-stop shop for fashion enthusiasts who desire quality, comfort and distinctive pieces with beauty, history and a purpose,” according to a release from the company.

The store will showcase the art and home goods of local makers in addition to offering eclectic pieces — “from the fine china to antique rugs and lighting to the furniture that also acts as display cases for various fashion staples” — sourced from across North America and Europe, according to the same media release. A local painter was commissioned to create imagery on one store wall based on Désirant’s mission: See beauty in everything.

“The 7,000-square-foot space outlines the interior of the hotel with multi-levels including a seated café bar serving Espresso and local fresh baked goods by Chocolate Gems,” reads the release.

Each department intertwines throughout to entice visitors to discover something interesting and new at every turn, from the fine china to antique rugs and lighting to the furniture that also acts as display cases for various fashion staples. A wall illustration by a local painter was created to best symbolize Désirant’s mission and inspiration, See Beauty in Everything. With the anticipated success of its first retail space, Désirant plans to expand to other key markets in the U.S. in the near future.
