23rd Annual Spring Concert – “Voices in Spring” featuring the music of British, French and American Composers

This concert is supported by a Grassroots Grant by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources awarded by the Haywood County Arts Council 

Tickets are $12 in advance $15 at the door for adults and $8 in advance and $10 at the door for children 11 and under

Voices in the Laurel is a Haywood County-based nonprofit choir for young people ranging from 1st grade through 12th grade from Haywood, Buncombe, Jackson, and Swain counties under the direction of Martha Brown. Voices in the Laurel is an authentic program that focuses on providing young people quality choral education in fun and innovative ways.  

This concert is supported by a Grassroots Grant by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources awarded by the Haywood County Arts Council 

Auditions for new choristers for next season will be held on June 3 and 10 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Waynesville. Call 828-564-3310 for an appointment.

SummerVoice Music Camp for rising 1st through 12th graders will be July 29- August 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Waynesville. For more information, contact 828-564-3310

Voices in the Laurel provides choristers the opportunity to participate in performance tours all over the world. Some of the places Voices in the Laurel has performed are: with the Asheville Lyric Opera at the Diana Wortham Theater, Charleston’s “Little Spoleto” Festival, opened for Dolly Parton in her Christmas show at Dollywood, with Ronnie Milsap at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, the National Anthem, at Atlanta Braves games, at a Cincinnati Reds game, the Pacific Rim Children’s Choir Festival in Hawaii, the National Cathedral in Washington DC, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan, Westminster Abbey in London, Chartres Cathedral in France, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, Madrid and Barcelona, Spain, Dublin, Ireland and Belfast, Northern Ireland, Carnegie Hall in New York City, Salzburg and Vienna, Austria and Prague, Czech Republic.

This summer a select group of choristers will be participating in a Performance tour in London and Paris!
