Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) exists to serve the homeless, poor, and addicted populations of Western North Carolina. We meet people in crisis, focus on helping them at the point of their need, and help them until they can move forward. The A Community Thrives grant will support our partnership with Asheville City Schools and Gladiator Sports Academy, to provide a remote learning PODS classroom for students learning remotely due to Coronavirus.
“We are excited to have been awarded this grant and know that it will be instrumental in helping us provide the best possible remote learning environment for the students of Asheville,” said a spokesperson for WCRM.
“We are proud of the work Western Carolina Rescue Ministries has done to enhance Asheville, NC. At Gannett, we take pride in supporting the organizations that make a positive impact in their communities. Through A Community Thrives, we lend financial support to that purpose as well as rally the whole community to champion a good and meaningful cause,” said CEO and Chairman Mike Reed.
