Weather impacts to City of Asheville services

Press release from The City of Asheville:

Icy road conditions and cold weather this morning have resulted in some impacts to City Services.  City of Asheville street teams have been out through the early morning hours gritting streets. They witnessed several accidents caused by black ice and reminds community members,  especially those in high elevations, to please drive with caution.
Community members are encouraged to follow the City of Asheville social media and website for ongoing updates on impacts.
ART / Transit
Due to icy road conditions, Asheville Rapid Transit is currently suspending service. Teams will continue to assess road conditions with the aim of resuming service today as soon as road conditions are safe.
Sanitation 
All services are currently delayed until road conditions improve.
Community Centers and Programs
Asheville Parks & Recreation Community Centers will operate on an inclement weather schedule on December 3, 2024.
Childcare with indoor activities, crafts, and get-to-know-you games available for $5 per child at Linwood Crump Shiloh Community Center (for Buncombe County School students) and Tempie Avery Montford Community Center (for Asheville City School students) from 9am-6pm. Each child or teen should bring their own lunch and drink, but snacks are provided.
Burton Street and Murphy-Oakley community centers are closed.
All other community centers are open from 12-6pm, but regular programs are cancelled. All sports leagues and athletics practices are also cancelled.
