Press release from Western Carolina Rescue Ministries:
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) will be hosting its Second Annual Week of Thankfulness for those in need starting Monday, Nov. 19 and running through Friday, Nov. 23. The event will take place each evening from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (225 Patton Avenue).
Each evening, the dining room will transform through decorations and live music centered around a one of the following themes: love, joy, peace, kindness — and of course, thankfulness on Thanksgiving Day. Dinner will have a selected menu and be served to those individuals dining at WCRM “restaurant style,” in which volunteers will wait on those in need rather than making them go through the typical cafeteria line for service of food and drink. In addition, there will be a free giveaway each evening.
The intention behind this event is to raise awareness that every year many people come out to serve those in need on Thanksgiving Day, but individuals are hungry other days as well. Western Carolina Rescue Ministries would like to make this a special event for those in need and show them that there are many things to be thankful for.
