On the last day of summer, 2013, Brooklyn’s autumnally-named indie-rockers, Wild Leaves, are set to play Emerald Lounge. Skunkruckus, Nick Shelton and Dean Johanesen also perform in a night of American-infused roots-rock. 9 p.m., $5.
From a press release:
Formed in 2011 after five long-time friends moved from their homes in Ohio to Brooklyn, New York, Wild Leaves has become a staple in the Brooklyn folk-music scene. Their sound is something nostalgic; using rich harmony and hazy melodies to recall memories not yet lost.
The music draws its sonic influences from The Byrds, John Phillips, Sagittarius, Graham Nash, Townes Van Zandt, Lee Hazlewood,The Mama’s and the Papa’s
With all four artists’ songs steeped in the pastoral tradition, The night promises to be a beautiful celebration of the changing seasons.
