The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will host a family-friendly event celebrating wild turkey hunting on Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s Depot on Asheville Highway in Pisgah Forest.
The event offers a variety of activities and demonstrations for all ages and skill levels, including a pellet range, box call building, call demonstrations, fly-fishing, archery and more. The event is presented by the Cold Mountain Strutters Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, the N.C. Bow Hunters Association, Mountain Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, the N.C. Nature Conservancy, Cross Trail Outfitters, Trout Unlimited and the Wildlife Resources Commission.
The cost to attend is $10 for those aged 17 and under, and free for those over 18 who are accompanied by a paying attendee. The cost includes all activities, a JAKES membership to the National Wild Turkey Federation and a personally-built box call.
