WNC Magazine calls for submissions for photo contest

WNC Magazine is calling for submissions to their annual “Images of Western North Carolina” photo contest, according to an email sent out by the publication. The deadline for submitting photo entries is September 30.

The bi-monthly publication is looking for photographs and images depicting scenes from around the region that illustrate the natural beauty and cultural diversity of the mountains and their residents. Each entry will be reviewed by a panel of judges over the fall; winners will be featured in the January/February issue of WNC Magazine.

The contest is open to professional and amateur photographers, according to the magazine’s official contest guidelines. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top winners, with $400 going to the top professional photograph submission chosen, $300 going to the first place amateur submission and an additional $100 prize category for readers’ top choice, which will be decided by an online poll after the photos are published.

All submissions must be in a digital format, six megabytes or smaller. Up to five photographs can be submitted per applicant. Winners will be announced early next year.
