From the WNC Alliance:
ASHEVILLE – The Western North Carolina Alliance is co-hosting a free event from 6-8:30 p.m. March 20 with that will help you make positive change in your communities, better understand our local governments and prepare those who may want to serve on a local board or commission.
The session, organized by WNCA, North Carolina Conservation Network and Just Economics, will be in room 314 of the Lenoir-Rhyne Campus, 36 Montford Ave.
Organizers will provide an overview of the structure and financing of government operations, as well as ways you can be more involved.
We’ll hear from people in the community who have been in a public service role, work for government, and empower others to serve their community. Come find out how you can make positive change happen in your community.
We’ll also provide dinner and child care. An RSVP is required by completing the form posted on the front page at www.WNCA.org.
Those needing child care must also reserve space in advance by call Just Economics at (828) 505-7466.
