PRESS RELEASE:

As the number of craft breweries continues to rise throughout the country, so does the number of breweries that are choosing to host live music. No band knows this better than the one time Nashville based indie folk-rock duo You Knew Me When. After uprooting from their Nashville home and full-time jobs in June of 2012 the husband and wife indie folk-rock duo set plans to tour the nation for a full year…however, they never stopped. Since that time they have been serving up their craft brewed compositions coast to coast throughout the USA and into Canada, and recently surpassed their 100th craft brewery performance across the United States. The duo will be adding another brewery to their lengthy list on January 22nd when they perform at Oskar Blues.

“We have garnered a tremendous appreciation over the past three plus years on the road for the ever progressing craft brewery movement,” said Cie Hoover of You Knew Me When “…not only because of the beer, but because of their appreciation of the arts and live music. We’ve found there to be a special kind of comradery and respect at breweries when it comes to independent music. There is always a great sense of community and appreciation in the air for music and beer lovers alike.”

Continuing to tour in support of their latest album release, You Knew Me When will perform at: Oskar Blues Brewery (www.oskarblues.com – 342 Mountain Industrial Dr, Brevard, NC) on Friday, January 22 at 6:00 p.m. No cover.

Outfitted with an array of instruments, You Knew Me When is a duo that present a full band sound. While blending their vocals, Karisa, who previously served as a tenured Nashville public school music teacher, provides the piano, ukulele, glockenspiel, and percussive elements, as Cie, who spent several years as the Global Events Manager for Gibson Guitar, supplies the guitar and other rhythmic nuances. The cumulative result is a musical style and live show that blends a singer-songwriter soul with a pop/rock mentality.

The duo’s latest album “We Found Roads” showcases the musical progression of You Knew Me When and the melding of both Karisa and Cie’s musical styles. At times upbeat and folksy, at times melancholy and introspective, the album is a reflection of mile-markers and moments derived from giving up everything and finding new paths together. Physical and digital copies of “We Found Roads” are available at www.youknewmewhen.com. The album is also available on iTunes, Amazon, and other online retailers. Listen to You Knew Me When online via Pandora, Spotify, iTunes, and other online radio sources.
