Zombie 5k Run benefits Sheep Dog Impact Assistance

Press release from the organizers:

Sheep Dog Impact Assistance WNC Zombie 5K Run

Founded in 2010, Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization that serves the needs of former and current military, law enforcement, fire & rescue and EMS professionals – society’s “Sheep Dogs.” SDIA offers assistance to fellow Sheep Dogs in need with financial/material support, and through programs like Thanksgiving Meals and Christmas Outreach, as well as deploying disaster relief teams to local communities when natural disasters strike. SDIA’s national office is located in Rogers, Arkansas, has 23 chapters and teams throughout the US, and more than 4,000 members and volunteers nationwide.

SDIA WNC is funded solely by the generosity of the public and corporate sponsors. They receive no federal or local government backing, and while their list of corporate sponsors is growing, much of their funding comes from hometown events such as information booths at festivals and events hosted by local businesses such as Gen X Crossfit gym. We are supported by many public events each year, and every dollar we raise at these events holds tremendous power and directly affects how many people we are able to help during the year.

On October 24th, 2015 SDIA WNC will host a Halloween themed 5K run, the Zombie Run, in order to raise funds that will help fellow Sheepdogs in need here in Western North Carolina. This event will be held at Jackson Park in Hendersonville at 8:15 pm. For more information regarding the event, potential participants can visit www.facebook.com/Sheep-Dog-Impact-Assistance-WNC-532798836834720/timeline/ or www.facebook.com/SDIAWNCbenefit5k.

SDIA WNC is also seeking sponsors for the event from the local area. If you or your business is interested in a sponsorship package, please get in touch with our media contact.

SDIA WNC’s media contact is Dave Celej. Dave can be reached by email at dcelej@sheepdogia.org or by phone at (607) 438-0020. Thank you for your support!
