It’s not unusual to see Jangling Sparrows on stage as a solo act, a duo, or even a full band. The local outfit is the project of singer-songwriter Paul Edelman, who deftly bounces from a folk sound as a solo artist to blue-collar rock ‘n’ roll with his band behind him.
Those skills shine through in the stories that Edelman tells in his music. His latest record, 140 Nickels, is a testament to that.
Jangling Sparrows won’t have another local show until Friday, March 15, at French Broad Brewery, but Edelman recently gave a solo acoustic performance at The Grey Eagle featuring some new and old tunes.
