Acoustic Asheville: Kathryn O’Shea

Music venues are still closed, but there are glimmers of hope for their future as concerts for crowds of limited sizes appear on schedules. For now, live streams are still the way to go, with many area musicians offering sets regularly on social media.

Local singer/songwriter Kathryn O’Shea has been doing the occasional online performance to help promote her new debut album, January 9th. The 10 songs tell a powerful story and are aided by O’Shea’s soulful voice and emotional delivery.

Xpress and Acoustic Asheville were lucky to get a three-song set during a recent quiet afternoon at The Grey Eagle. All of the songs are originals and featured on the new record, and the videos can be found below:

“Birthday”

“Holiday”

“Sinkhole”
