Dancing in a glade

Kenilworth resident John Cram will once again open his extensive gardens to the public as a fund-raiser for Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance. The event will offer daylight tours of Cram’s impressive collection of plants and outdoor art; in addition, there will be a market featuring plants by local growers, a garden-art sale, live music, refreshments and human topiaries.

The benefit runs Friday, May 27, through Sunday, May 29. Visitors can stroll the grounds from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine; guided tours will be offered at 11 a.m. and at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. Admission is $25 per person.

A Friday-evening twilight tour (5 to 8 p.m.; admission $75/person, $125/couple) will include wine and hors d’oeuvres, a sunset performance by flamenco guitarist Juan Benavides and Terpsicorps soloists.

Tickets are available at New Morning Gallery, Blue Spiral 1, Bellagio and the Asheville Area Arts Council, as well as at the gate.
