In this video interview, Xpress reporter Jake Frankel speaks with Republican General Assembly District 115 candidate Mark Crawford about his background, his views on the environment, education and jobs, and how he differs from his Democratic opponent, Rep. Patsy Keever.
The interview with Crawford took place at Magnolias in downtown Asheville as he was finishing up a lunch meeting with other Republican candidates and state leaders.
Earlier this week, Xpress interviewed Rep. Keever just after she was sworn in at the Buncombe County Courthouse. Keever was appointed by Gov. Beverly Perdue to fill the Buncombe seat vacated by Bruce Goforth after Keever beat him in the May primary.
I’m going to start a Facebook group for jake frankel’s hat.
Yes, Mark Crawford’s Raleigh record is remarkable. Remarkably WEAK that is. For everyone’s info, during his looooong two-year stint in the General Assembly in 2001-2002, Mr. Crawford was ranked #116 out of 120 in effectiveness. Well, at least he wasn’t last, I guess.
I’m voting for Patsy Keever.
Isn’t this the same guy who ran for school board, then decided to drop out of the race, only to go to the BOE after he decided he wanted to be a school board member after all?
Yes, tompeck, it is the very same guy. His performance at the Board of Elections in 2008, when he went to claim the school board seat, was hard to believe. I mean, the ego and arrogance on display were hard to take. Just one more reason I’m voting for Patsy Keever.
