Wolf Ridge Ski Resort under new management

CORRECTION: The original version of this story incorrectly reported that Wolf Ridge Ski Area was now being managed by Peak Resorts Inc., which owns multiple ski resorts across the country such as Mount Snow in Vermont. Wolf Ridge is now being managed by Peak Resorts LLC – a different company. We apologize for the error. The below story has been edited to reflect the changes.

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is now under new management. One of Madison County’s largest employers, the ski area is only a 35 minute drive north of Asheville, making it the closest resort to Western North Carolina’s biggest city.

The new management company, Peak Resorts LLC, promises big changes for the small local resort. Press release:

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort, one of Asheville and Madison County’s largest employers is now under new management. Peak Resorts Inc,  is driven to convert Wolf into one of the premier resorts on the East coast offering year round activities with the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. “Customer service is #1 and everything in our business is aimed at providing an experience to our guests like no other. The first thing people need to know is Wolf Ridge is not just a ski resort anymore”, said Craig Perkins, principal owner of Peak Resorts LLC.

The NEW Wolf Ridge Resort plans to immediately start converting the resort into a year round destination. This includes enhancing the dining facilities by opening the new Mountaintop Grill. “Our food and beverage head is one of the best in the industry, focused on delivering a great meal at a reasonable price. We believe our customers will be incredibly satisfied with our dining experience”, Perkins added. Wolf plans on providing weekly seasonal entertainment at the Mountaintop Grill, as well as many other events throughout the year.

The New Wolf will have two separate terrain park areas ranging from beginner, intermediate to advanced, with the goal of being one of the best terrain parks in the region.  Other changes include a lift-side grill, the expanded Breakaway slope, local Asheville busing options to and from the resort, fundraising promotions and more trails being open earlier in the season.

Wolf Ridge will now offer numerous spring, summer and fall activities such as camping, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking and more. The new Wolf management team has a very creative and ambitious business plan that encompasses multiple business units and is focused on giving back to the community. Perkins added, “Asheville is one of the most dynamic cities in the country. We are blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of the region’s growth and success. With all of our plans, a strong management team and a dedicated staff, there is no question it’s a very exciting time at the Wolf!!”

We’ve heard this many times before. I’ll believe it, when I see it. So much potential with that place, it’s such a shame how it has been run.

This is not the Peak Resorts that owns Mt.Snow and multiple other resorts. Please check your facts before printing inaccurate info……Tim Boyd…President of Peak Resorts Inc.
