ASHEVILLE
Thanks for reading through to the end…

My so far worst experience of a dog in a store was at Lowes. In the outdoor garden section, a dog was running loose peeing on numerous plants and displays. The nearby owner gave a call, which the dog totally ignored. That dog was determined to send his message home with shoppers.
I like your story about the dog, but how does it pertain to the bird cartoon?
I think he thought he was commenting on this story:

Is there a joke in there somewhere? I like the birds, but this is a bad cartoon.
To truly get it, you have to have both heard the aphorism “the early bird gets the worm” and have waited in line for local food: https://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g60742-d4295338-i279324522-Biscuit_Head-Asheville_North_Carolina.html
And it’s a play on Early Girl Eatery on Wall St., which I admit I have stood in line at. See, in the background, there’s a sign for ‘Early Bird Eatery’? It’s a mutli-layered cartoon, with something for everyone. I laughed, I cried, I cooked some eggs for myself and ate them.
(Sorry, birds.)
I love this one — I’ve been in the line for Biltmore’s Biscuithead more times than I care to admit. Still worth it!
Ditto about the lines at BH (my choice was W.AVL) but I found the fare mediocre and stopped going after the first month.
