Letter writer: Converting chicken manure into chicken salad

Graphic by Lori Deaton

I wanted to thank the Mountain Xpress for the recent cartoon opportunity [“Carlvin and Stomps,” Brent Brown, April 20]. As a tired, old, white, conservative, Christian male, it was gratifying to have yet another opportunity to garner much-needed attention for my depleted soul.

I also appreciated the additional attention to the harms of sexual misconduct in public parks; the failure to follow legal procedure (and good judgment) in placing a rainbow flag on City Hall; and the pretense of free-range bathroom access as a social justice issue.

I was especially grateful for yet another example of the capacity of our community’s progressive-liberal-socialists to convert chicken manure into chicken salad.

Thanks Carl. I must have missed that recipe – sounds interesting. Can you post it?

When it comes to manure, Carl is king of the hill. It provides him with such a high ground to judge others.

Of course, you also have to wonder about those of us who read past the headline.

Chicken manure to chicken salad recipe. Well here goes.
    1. Process raw chicken manure into an easy to use pellet
    2. Grow corn and soybeans with the organic fertilizer
    3. Feed your chickens the organic grain
    4. Once grown, process chicken
    5. Boil chicken until done, saving broth to make soup
    6. Use fresh cooked, organic chicken to make a tasty chicken salad of your choice
