How do you spell “inevitable”?

There are a few things that need to be addressed as to what exemplifies a “lie from the pit of hell,” as discussed by James Dye in his June 29 Xpress Commentary, “How Do You Spell ‘Respect’?”

Dye states, “Had the mayor not acted when she did, the great freight train of history would have passed her by.” Referring to history is the very mechanism that holds our civilization back from true progress. We must not be in tune with history because as we know, all civilizations that walked beside their own depravity have been utterly destroyed. Mayor Bellamy cares for what is factual, knowing full well that her stance is not popular; it is just. The servitude toward others she enjoys would’ve passed her by had she not boarded the “historical freight train of depravity.”

The basic concept of evolutionary theory does not support LGBT rights “wholeheartedly.” There are few exceptions in the animal kingdom, but let’s look at this objectively. Dogs will hump just about anything. In contrast, we’re armed with reasoning ability, designed to move forward to reproduce that which is natural. None of us have a special gene that makes one homosexual or heterosexual. The passage of LGBT “history month” is but a stepping stone to future destructive behaviors. I find this movement to be synonymous with the current Palestinian movement seeking to destroy Israel. It is veiled by an unrelenting cry of equality but is merely fueled by destruction toward any and all wholesome aspects of community.

The house you are trying to build on your so-called “firmament” is as a house built on sand. It will eventually seep right back into the dark waters from whence it came.

“Nice” homophobic commentary, IMHO. It appears that your definition of “wholesome community” is exclusive of gay folks- which is wrong.

Your hyperbole and bombast is laughable. In terms of sexual preference, people are what they are, Mr. Edmonston. It’s always been this way, throughout all of history. And they deserve full equality under the law. Because this is America.

Maybe you’d be happier in another country where equal rights aren’t guaranteed and bigotry is ok?

I have read this sentence over and over, but am unable to discern any logic or reason entailed in it at all.

If dogs could reason, they would be more discerning with what they “hump”, allowing them to reproduce naturally? Are Dogs currently evolving backwards, and reproducing un-naturally?

Or is it that people are designed to move forwards, not backwards, because if you back up, it might be into another man’s hoo-ha, leading to gay sex, while forward motion can only lead to accidental ‘natural’, heterosexual, forward sex?

I am so confused. This letter has confused me, sexually. Way to go, Mr. Edmosnton. I have a wife and kid you need to answer to for confusing me!

    Help?

John Stewart’s July 13 show did a hilarious bit about Michelle Bachmann’s husband who “cures” certain folks. I wholeheartedly recommend that the letter writer watch Stewart’s take on this topic.

forward motion can only lead to accidental ‘natural’, heterosexual, forward sex?

Wouldn’t this be entirely dependent on what you’re moving forward into?

  6. “We must not be in tune with history because as we know, all civilizations that walked beside their own depravity have been utterly destroyed.”

Right. Depravity is the root cause of the collapse of civilizations throughout history. Nothing about too much war, greed, empire, drought, famine or disease. It was depravity that did them in.

Mr. Edmonston has made abundantly clear he is not in tune with history.
