Comparing Sen. Forrester to the Klan and Hitler is too extreme

Jery Tillotson’ letter needs to lighten up on the hyperbole a little [“Forrester, the Klan and Hitler: brothers under the skin?Oct. 19 Xpress].

Tillotson compares Sen. James Forrester to Hitler, really? The gay-marriage fight is a financial one. A move for tax and insurance-rate breaks that go with “married” status.

For the record, I'm not a big fan of paying (via tax exemptions) my straight (married or unmarried) neighbors to procreate our species into starvation, either.

I have yet to see a Hitler comparison to anyone work out in the favor of the author. It will always make the author seem more concerned with the shock value of his title in order to gain readers rather than a well thought out analysis of the subject at hand.
