Correction

In last week's Xpress, we incorrectly reported that Rocky Owenby, Democratic candidate for Buncombe County sheriff, attended the grand opening of the local Republican Party's new headquarters. He did not; it was instead Dickie Green, Republican sheriff candidate. Additionally, Buncombe County GOP Chairman Chad Nesbitt contacted Xpress to inform us that his official count indicated that 122 people were attendance. Xpress reported that about 100 were on hand.

No. Wrong again. Xpress reporter Mike Muller reported 50 people were at the BCGOP event. He reported 50 people on the Xpress website twice.
He reported 100 in your printed newspaper.

I am the one of the many that brought it to the Chairman’s attention.

Members of the Rocky Owenby campaign were also wondering what was going on. Thank you for the correction.

Mr. Muller is a contributor to Mr. Gordon Smiths website. Mr. Forbes, Mr. Elliston,
Mr. Sanford, and the Mnt Xpress staff have always printed true and accurate stories. Where is the Xpress going with Mr. Muller?

  2. Holy cow! Is this a member of the BCGOP being a stickler for the truth and accurate facts on a body count? Now if they could just branch out to truth and accuracy in their own spread of disinformation, that would be a change we could all get behind.
