Mourning the mountain

I would like to know [who] is responsible for the shameless destruction in lower Leicester known as Rose Hill Plantation. These [people who] call themselves developers are really just destroyers—land rapists of the filthiest degree. Mountaintop removal is their specialty. The beautiful mountain that once stood there has been mercilessly scraped and carved into an unrecognizable plot resembling a giant dirt racetrack. And “Plantation”—what kind of fool thinks a plantation is a dinky lot with a crappy spec house?

Perhaps the most insulting part is the gate. Just whom are they intending to keep out? The locals, who are continuously being forced to sell off precious chunks of land like that one just to pay the property taxes? The locals, who have farmed and hunted on that mountain for centuries?

Rose Hill Plantation, your gated community, is a failed attempt at elitism … . A more fitting name would be Bulldozed Hill Abomination.
