Pumpkins smumpkins

I tried to get tickets to the Pumpkins show too, and along with so many others, my browser crashed that fateful Sunday. Since I had a gun show to attend, I gave up.

A week later, I was commiserating with a friend and business associate at the Mountain Xpress, saying how perfect the B-52’s would be as a headliner at Bele Chere, to which he replied, “Well, they are playing at the Biltmore in August, and tickets have been available for two weeks.” I was floored and went straight to the Biltmore site and started a spending spree for myself and numerous friends that went on for days.

Being a music industry veteran, in the final analysis the Biltmore has much better bands than the Orange Peel, and I have yet to see a show at the OP that was truly memorable. The B-52’s, however, I have wanted to see since I first saw them back in 1979, and I’m grateful that there wasn’t the same kind of media hype for their show or I wouldn’t have gotten tickets to this one, either. Right on Biltmore!
