Brown Bag Songwriting Competition winner Brittany Ann Tranbaugh
By the end of the night Brittany Ann Tranbaugh walked away victorious. Though, for the recent Asheville transplant, it sounds like the contest was more about artistry and connections within the local songwriting community than killer instinct. “It was such a good show. Everyone who played was incredible,” she says. “I got in touch with some really great people.”

Brown Bag Songwriting Competition begins a new season
The Brown Bag Songwriting Competition is held every Monday for 11 weeks, starting Sept. 8. New and seasoned musicians showcase original songs in front of an audience and panel of judges, and the finale sees each round’s winner back to compete (possibly in front of a celebrity judge) for prizes and bragging rights.
