The streets of downtown Asheville were free of cars on Sept. 17 — but that doesn’t mean they were quiet. Open Streets Asheville returned for its second year, filling the roadways with people and activities, including art, dance, sports and music.

Asheville City Council preview: tobacco, bees, and streets
Streets are front and center for Asheville City Council at its meeting tonight, as the august governing body will consider both a “complete streets policy” and a traffic study for the Charlotte Street corridor.
