AC-T: Storm leaves isolated damage, lost power

Severe thunderstorms moved through Western North Carolina Sunday night, leaving behind isolated damage and power outages, including a tree that blocked the main thoroughfare in West Asheville, the Asheville Citizen-Times reported.  Crews cleared the tree overnight.

The storm knocked over a large tree along the north side of Haywood Road, which reached to the south side of the street and completely blocked the road between Swannanoa and Michigan avenues about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

About 2,500 Duke Energy customers were still without power at 9 a.m. Monday.
