WHAT: Asheville Savings Bank (ASB) will host U.S. Rep. Throughout the morning at ASB’s Mars Hill banking center, Congressman Meadows will work alongside bank employees, greet customers, and meet with staff and management, among other activities.

WHY: By spending a “day in the life” of a banker, Congressman Meadows will gain a hands-on understanding of how ASB operates on a day-to-day basis and experience the value that local banks bring both to their communities and local economies.

Republican US Representative Meadows is up for re-election this year (as are all US Reps) – sorry, I view this as political statement by ASB to give Meadows a free meet and greet – I am voting for Rick Bryson anyway but the free PR irks me. Maybe they could have gotten someone in office not up for re-election this year.
