Asheville Symphony Chorus holds 25th anniversary events

Concert Title: From Bach to Bernstein: Our 25th Anniversary Celebration
Concert Description: The Asheville Symphony Chorus shares its joy of singing together for 25 years by offering a retrospective of the choral works it has performed since its inception. Music Director Dr. Michael Lancaster has selected his favorite movement from each work on the program. Highlights include selections from Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Requiem, and other major choral classics. This will be a real treat for those who enjoy hearing favorite excerpts from among the greatest masterpieces of Western music.
Concert Date/Time/Place: Saturday, November 12, 2016. 7:30 pm. Arden Presbyterian Church. 2215 Hendersonville Rd.
Arden, NC

Concert Title: Handel’s Messiah: A Community Sing-Along
Concert Description: The Asheville Symphony Chorus presents its 2nd annual Community Sing-along of Handel’s Christmas Oratorio. Whether joining in to sing this holiday classic or choosing to listen to the soaring sound of more than 150 voices, attendees are sure to have a great time. People traveled from near and far for the 1st annual event and we expect the same this year.
Concert Date/Place/Time: Thursday, December 8, 2016. First Presbyterian Church, 40 Church Street, Asheville NC. The concert starts at 7:30 pm. But for those who want to participate in the Sing Along, the Singers’ Call time is 6:30 pm. Music scores will be available, but singers should bring their own score if convenient.
Ticket Price: $15
