Here’s the press release from Tate Publishing:

Author Bill Penley Book Signing Event

WHEN: 2013-10-19

TIME: 1:00-3:00 p.m.

WHERE: Firestorm Cafe & Books, 48 Commerce Street, Asheville, NC

WHAT: Penley, a resident of Biltmore Forest, NC, will be available to sign copies of his book, A Smoky Mountain Odyssey.

A Smoky Mountain Odyssey is a historical novel set in the ruins of Post-Civil War western North Carolina. You will revisit a region ravaged by both Confederate and Union troops. The protagonist, Sky Boys, is a young man who escaped the war’s carnage, but was convicted of murder and sentenced to hang. His miraculous getaway, his life on the lam, and longing for his betrothed, Willa, will turn a few minutes of reading time into hours.

This fictional novel is geographically and historically correct. In it you will discover nuggets about the Appalachian heritage flowing like rivulets into mountain streams. You will recognize integrity and deceit, daring and cowardice, hatred and love, all woven into a masterful, dramatic conflict.

Foremost, readers will perceive how Sky’s Christian faith guarded him in times of danger, and death.
