In trouble? Need help? Now there’s an app for that.

The advent of the 911 system was a boon to emergency response. Thousands of lives have been saved with its use. But they can’t notify your social networks, friends or family when you are in danger, or when you are out of danger.

Enter Proteg-Go, a company that debuted an app to do exactly that at the Consumer Electronics Show this week. With a little pre-programming, the company claims to have a “one touch” notification of selected family members, contacts and emergency services with real-time GPS and the ability to notify loved ones when the danger has passed.

The app, priced at $1.99 is available at the link .
