New dance studio DANCECLUB Asheville opens May 2

PRESS RELEASE FROM DANCECLUB ASHEVILLE:

DANCECLUB Asheville, a dance studio playground for adults! DANCECLUB Asheville (DCA) is a dance and pole fitness studio that encourages fun, uninhibited dancing in an environment free of intimidation. DCA will be opening it’s doors at the beginning of May to adults of all ages. The studio will offer a wide array of classes in pole dancing/fitness, jazz/funk, classic jazz, burlesque, high heels, modern, exercise dance, boot camp, and flexibility and conditioning. Students will have the option to try out one class at a time or become a member, similar to a gym, having full access to all classes. DCA is a one stop shop for fun, expression, and exercise.

Kathleen Hahn, DCA’s owner and head teacher, has just returned from New York City where she spent a year and a half studying pole dancing, burlesque and modern dance. She is excited to come back with many new things to share with the Asheville community. Kathleen has an extensive background training as a professional dancer, performing, choreographing and teaching dance. Prior to moving to NY Kathleen was teaching mainly flashmob dance classes, burlesque and modern in Asheville on the third floor of Loretta’s Cafe on Lexington Avenue. Kathleen decided to go back to NYC, where she’s lived before, knowing it would be the perfect place to spend a concentrated amount of time studying dance and have buckets full of all things dance to bring back to the studio she planned to open on her return.

Kathleen is excited to be offering so many different types of classes, with two other teachers besides herself (and more to come), for all levels in their new 2,000 square foot studio. She is especially excited to be one of the only pole dance studios in Asheville and the only studio to be certified by New York Pole Dancing which was the first pole studio to open in NYC. Pole dancing and fitness have become so popular in the last 10 years for reasons most people find out once they start. It’s an amazing form of exercise that will make you stronger than you’ve ever been before, it’s playful, it’s expressive, and is a great modality for exploring your sensual side.

DCA has a class for every skill level, from the absolute beginner to the more advanced dancer looking for an exciting challenge. DCA will offer performance opportunities, flashmobs, special workshops, ridiculously fun events, and will be available as an affordable rental studio and party venue.

DCA will also be the home of I Do Dances, Kathleen’s wedding business, choreographing custom First Dances and other wedding dances for couples getting married. Learn more at idodances.com

Things to expect when you come to DCA: A beautiful space, a fun, welcoming environment full of knock your socks off exciting dance classes, talented, inspiring teachers, a community of people that love dance, and most likely glitter.

DANCECLUB Asheville will open it’s doors on Monday, May 2nd for the first week of classes. Everyone will be invited to a ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce and dance party in early June.

DCA is located right down the street from UNCA at Riverside Crossing, 9 Old Burnsville Hill Road, Suite 3. Find them online at DanceclubAsheville.com for more information, to check out their class schedule, and sign up for classes.
