Turner announces Legislative Assistant; will be sworn-in Jan. 14

Asheville – Representative-Elect Brian Turner (HD-116) announced today that Anderson “Andy” Miller has accepted the position of Legislative Assistant to work with Turner when he takes office in January.

“I am fortunate to have Andy as part of the team representing District 116.” Turner said. “His experience in navigating state government and the legislative process combined with his local knowledge will be critical in delivering constituent services and helping build a stronger Buncombe County.”

Miller is a 2008 graduate of Enka High and a 2012 graduate of WCU where he earned degrees in International & Global Studies, and Philosophy & Religious Studies. An Eagle Scout from Troop 45 in Candler, Miller most recently worked as the Legislative Assistant for NC House Representative Joe Sam Queen (HD-119).

When asked about the transition Miller stated “I am looking forward to applying what I have learned working with Rep. Queen to the benefit of the community where I grew up and all of Buncombe County.”

Turner who won election earlier this month in a hard-fought race against Rep. Tim Moffitt is scheduled to be sworn in on January 14th, 2015 to serve during the 2015-2016 legislative sessions.
