Video-a-Go-Go: The local video roundup

As you may be aware, Asheville’s craft-brewing community has gained quite a bit of recognition in recent years. This week, Atlanta-based VideoBeerReviews swings through the city to review local brews. If you love local beer, definitely check out this video and the sequel for all the shout outs, and keep an eye on his user channel for more videos to come.

Last week, we brought you some clips from the recent Laugh Your Asheville Off comedy festival. This week, we’ve uncovered this video, which documents the journey of comedians Sean Wilkinson and Jason Marcus on their 15-hour drive to the event. Part one is below, click here for parts two and three. The videos are probably not work safe due to language.

One of the great things about the Internet age is that there are points of contact for almost every conceivable interest, all available in mere seconds. Say, for instance, you find trainspotting to be a dated hobby, and you seek something more dynamic. Perhaps you crave secret-camera footage of garbage-collection vehicles. Merely ask, and the Internet will provide. Here’s locally shot footage of an 09’ McNeilus Automated Garbage Truck, courtesy of YouTube user wesbann.

Next, we have a video of Asheville Aerial Arts showing off their aerobatic awesomeness at the recent RiverLink Rockin’ River Fest. It’s kind of hard not to be impressed.

As this comedic short-film shows, sometimes the make-believe “wangsta” (white gangsta) lifestyle isn’t quite as glamorous as it seems. This is actually a fairly entertaining video when you consider it’s made by some bored kids with access to a camera and some video-editing software.

And finally, local photographer and artist Rene’ Treece recently created an album cover for musician Bitch’s new CD, Blasted. And thanks to the magic of time-lapse, you can watch the entire process unfold right before your eyes.

Each week, dozens upon dozens of interesting local videos are uploaded to YouTube. It’s a lot to keep up with. Did we miss a particularly interesting, recently uploaded local video? Share it by leaving the videos URL (but not the embed code) in the comment fields below. Also, please mark it Not Work Safe if there’s any controversial content to the video.
