We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.
We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
‘moderated’??
Then how will we learn about communist nazi-ism?
Airport worker reports Ford F-250s were unloaded from a cargo plane earlier today ; likely secret service vehicles ahead of #avlpotus
Flying trucks around the country? We are so environmentally friendly.
Guess this means we’re all a-twitter over the president being here.
I can’t believe that the redneck republicans are running an ad on Saturday critical of the President. How low class. Give the man a break and let him have a peaceful vacation with fond memories of Asheville.

Do you think 12 Bones will have a private Saturday opening for the Prez?

The fact that they are hiding behind kids in the commercial is the worst part.
I am actually starting to think that the Buncombe Co. GOP is some sort of inside joke. Have you seen this website?

Its like something off of South Park.
I doubt we have many armored vehicles laying around unused in Buncombe co. DUH!!!

“If it happens today he probably doesn’t carry the state,” Mark Gibney, a political science professor at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, said of Obama and the 2012 election. “There’s not the same pride that this is our president in the same way of the pride that this is our candidate, especially among the young people.”
WTF Mark Gibney? I wonder how many young people he polled for this amazing remark.
Welcome President Obama: Have a good vacation here and ignore the morons of the country who wish you ill. Enjoy Asheville, and come back again.

Semper Fi, sir.
Were the visiting Chicago Thugs still with Obama at the Corner Kitchen? Why go there for dinner?
Brunch maybe…oh well they leave tomorrow! buh bye!
Yes, the Secret Service were there. Very diverse, very nice. Corner Kitchen stepped up to the plate, as usual, with great food and service. By the way, buh bye stopped being funny about ten years ago.
