The Women’s Wellbeing and Development Foundation empowers women and girls to utilize their economic, social, intellectual and spiritual potential to achieve personal growth and the integrated development of their communities. The foundation develops and supports programs that promote economic self-sufficiency, social equality and sustainable development, by providing effective technical assistance and targeted funding, and by creating model healthcare and educational programs.
Director Ana Jabra states, “WWD-F is a unique organization in that it provides holistic approaches to the grave economic, social and environmental problems of the day. Our projects empower women to find effective and lasting solutions to their … problems. For example, in Managua, Nicaragua, our new health-and-education center will educate a community to develop healthy lifestyles and produce their own organic fruits and vegetables. This will improve their health, raise their consciousness, help them economically, and improve the environment.”
The organization is currently conducting a campaign to collect new and used materials for its new center in Nicaragua. WWD-F strives to encourage an attitude of collaboration and cooperation by building partnerships with all types of nonprofit and governmental organizations.
